...but i think that the government should divide that $15 billion dollars among the employees of the car companies. Why should the American public be held ransom by the threats of these greedy bastards? They keep saying "give us money or we'll go bankrupt and lay off all these employees!" Let them go bankrupt. give the money directly to the employees and make those stupid assholes pay for their hubris and lack of forsight as well they should.

Also this.
"We thought it couldn't get more anti-choice and more extreme for women and for health care than George Bush and John McCain. But let's face it -- with Sarah Palin, John McCain has outdone himself. Women voting for McCain-Palin is like chickens voting for Col. Sanders. That is not a risk we can afford to take."

I said, I want a leader who believes This:
For years the Bainbridge Island author and lecturer has been challenging the present economic order."It is an illusion that if you are making money you are creating wealth," he said. "Real wealth is created by investing in the human capital of productive people, the social capital of caring relationships and the natural capital of healthy ecosystems."

Not sure where this is from originally...
*If you grow up in Hawaii, raised by your grandparents, you're "exotic, different."
**Grow up in Alaska eating moose burgers, a quintessential American story.
*If your name is Barack you're a radical, unpatriotic Muslim.
**Name your kids Bristol, Willow, Piper, Trig and Track, you're a maverick.
*Graduate from Harvard law School and you are unstable.
**Attend 5 different small colleges before graduating, you're well grounded.
*If you spend 3 years as a brilliant community organizer, become the first black President of the Harvard Law Review, create a voter registration drive that registers 150,000 new voters, spend 12 years as a Constitutional Law professor, spend 8 years as a State Senator representing a district with over 750,000 people, become chairman of the state Senate's Health and Human Services committee, spend 4 years in the United States Senate representing a state of 13 million people while sponsoring 131 bills and serving on the Foreign Affairs, Environment and Public Works and Veteran's Affairs committees, you don't have any real leadership experience.
**If your total resume is: local weather girl, 4 years on the city council and 6 years as the mayor of a town with less than 7,000 people, 20 months as the governor of a state with only 650,000 people, then you're qualified to become the country's second highest ranking executive.
*If you have been married to the same woman for 19 years while raising 2 beautiful daughters, within Protestant churches, you're not a real Christian.
**If you cheated on your first wife with a rich heiress, and left your disfigured wife and married the heiress the next month, you're a Christian.
*If you teach responsible, age appropriate sex education, including the proper use of birth control, you are eroding the fiber of society.
**If, while governor, you staunchly advocate abstinence only, with no other option in sex education in your state's school system while your unwed teen daughter ends up pregnant , you're very responsible.
*If your wife is a Harvard graduate lawyer who gave up a position in a prestigious law firm to work for the betterment of her inner city community, then gave that up to raise a family, your family's values don't represent America's.
**If your husband is nicknamed "First Dude", with at least one DWI conviction and no college education, who didn't register to vote until age 25 and once was a member of a group that advocated the secession of Alaska from the USA, your family is extremely admirable.

Separation of church and state?
Watch:
http://www.atlah.org/broadcast/ndnr09-03-08.html
You know, any jackass off the street could post a video on youtube and yell like that for five minutes, and I don't even care if he is telling the truth or not, that kind of preachy argumentative tone he takes is annoying and takes away from any sort of thoughtful argument he may have. Maybe it's just me, but I've never been moved by having ideas forced down my throat like that.
Also, the fact that he lumped homosexuality into drug useage, bestiality, and devil worshiping is completely close-minded and quite frankly, out dated (though considering the source it's not surprising). How very unfortunate to think that there are so many people in this country who have such an old-fashioned way of thinking. He spoke a lot about the 50's and 60's in his video, and I am concerned that maybe he has forgotten that we have now, in fact, enetered the 21st century.
Hey, I think if all of what that man said is true about Obama's upbringing, the fact that Obama was able to rise above from such a rough homelife to end up where he is now is encouraging and shows just how strong and intelligent of a person he is. It's not like his mother was the daughter of a high profile public figure. From what we've been told about the Palin's, Bristol's upbringing was full of unicorns and sunshine. Two separate lives, two separate worlds, two bad decisions, but two completely different situations that are mostly uncomparable.

Women Against Sarah Palin
Yvanka sent me this link and I think it is quite amazing.
Here is their "about me." I could not say it better myself:
"We are not in the habit of criticizing women in the public sphere, as we usually feel we should support our female compatriots with as much encouragement as we can. However, Sarah Palin's record is anti-woman. Feminism is not simply about achieving the power and status typically held by men. It's about protecting and supporting the rights of women of all classes, races, cultures, and beliefs. Palin's record and beliefs do not align with this. She was chosen by John McCain specifically because he believes that American women will vote for any female candidate regardless of their qualifications. He is wrong."
He is SO WRONG.

Does this mean that I live in the dark grey area?
Dear Saucy Cynicism:
I will start the revolution with you. Where do I sign up?
I am mostly happy to be voting for Obama, mainly just because of the fact that he is not an over-the-top, power-and-money-hungry, ancient republican. I truly feel that with Oldie McLameAss and Sarah Pee in charge, we can assure ourselves another four(+?) years of hell on earth. Electing B.O. would guarantee we'd at least be moved out of the firey pits where we are currently burning and into purgatory... waiting out judgement to either screw it up YET AGAIN, or perhaps finally make some progress in this country.
B.O. is in no way my ideal candidate. My ideal candidate would value all as equal, not just give everyone their deserved rights. (There are other reasons, mostly having to do with religion, but that's a whole other blog post.) I do think having a black man, and a woman running this year offers the people of this country a lot of hope for potential progress. But their race and gender in no way automatically make them the best possible candidates. However, right now, I'll take what I can get if it means getting the Bush family out of the white house!
So for the time being, I will continue to consider myself a democrat in the sense that I lean to the left, sometimes very far, sometimes not so far, but mostly that way, and like you said, until this two party system ceases to exist, I will continue to align myself with, and support the lesser of two evils.

I live in the Grey Area.
Do not be confused. I will in NO WAY be voting for McLame & Paltry. The idiots who state that Paltry will win the women's votes must have been deprived of oxygen during childbirth, or perhaps at age 22. The only women who will vote for Paltry are women who were voting Republican already. Or who vote the same way as their husband because 'God told them to' or something equally patriarchal. Gross.
On the hallowed day of November 4th, 2008, I will most likely walk into the school where I am registered to cast my saintly ballot, slip into a booth that wouldn't hold up to a strong sneeze, and cast my vote for the big B.O.
Wait-most likely? Oh, you noticed that?
Here is my confession: Deep in my heart and mind, I hold onto the sad knowledge that while it is a truly historical election-a moment that has been coming for 60 years and taken toll on untold lives and hearts-Obama will really be no different.
BLASPHEME!!!!!
I know, I know. My statements are asinine, truly the rantings of a madwoman! Uh, did you see the profile picture here? Me and that guy-we're twins (yes, I'm an ASS for those of you who are dense). The sad resignation that I will feel when I darken in my little dots is explainable. Until this country pulls itself up out of the over fed, over medicated, media stimulated, instantly gratified, celebrity loving, ostrich-like litigious FUNK that we (yes, I'm part of the problem) currently occupy 'change' is only an idea. There is no real competition in this corrupt two party system. Where are the real mavericks, those who are willing to take a chance because they can-they are not merely puppets of an already tired and over worked machine. In case you were wondering, yes, my middle name is Cynicism. Saucy Cynicism has a nice ring, doesn't it?
I wish I was brave enough to start the revolution. But there is a hole in the ground with my name on it.
