You know, any jackass off the street could post a video on youtube and yell like that for five minutes, and I don't even care if he is telling the truth or not, that kind of preachy argumentative tone he takes is annoying and takes away from any sort of thoughtful argument he may have. Maybe it's just me, but I've never been moved by having ideas forced down my throat like that.
Also, the fact that he lumped homosexuality into drug useage, bestiality, and devil worshiping is completely close-minded and quite frankly, out dated (though considering the source it's not surprising). How very unfortunate to think that there are so many people in this country who have such an old-fashioned way of thinking. He spoke a lot about the 50's and 60's in his video, and I am concerned that maybe he has forgotten that we have now, in fact, enetered the 21st century.
Hey, I think if all of what that man said is true about Obama's upbringing, the fact that Obama was able to rise above from such a rough homelife to end up where he is now is encouraging and shows just how strong and intelligent of a person he is. It's not like his mother was the daughter of a high profile public figure. From what we've been told about the Palin's, Bristol's upbringing was full of unicorns and sunshine. Two separate lives, two separate worlds, two bad decisions, but two completely different situations that are mostly uncomparable.

Does this mean that I live in the dark grey area?
Dear Saucy Cynicism:
I will start the revolution with you. Where do I sign up?
I am mostly happy to be voting for Obama, mainly just because of the fact that he is not an over-the-top, power-and-money-hungry, ancient republican. I truly feel that with Oldie McLameAss and Sarah Pee in charge, we can assure ourselves another four(+?) years of hell on earth. Electing B.O. would guarantee we'd at least be moved out of the firey pits where we are currently burning and into purgatory... waiting out judgement to either screw it up YET AGAIN, or perhaps finally make some progress in this country.
B.O. is in no way my ideal candidate. My ideal candidate would value all as equal, not just give everyone their deserved rights. (There are other reasons, mostly having to do with religion, but that's a whole other blog post.) I do think having a black man, and a woman running this year offers the people of this country a lot of hope for potential progress. But their race and gender in no way automatically make them the best possible candidates. However, right now, I'll take what I can get if it means getting the Bush family out of the white house!
So for the time being, I will continue to consider myself a democrat in the sense that I lean to the left, sometimes very far, sometimes not so far, but mostly that way, and like you said, until this two party system ceases to exist, I will continue to align myself with, and support the lesser of two evils.

No, actually. I'm not kidding you.

Thank you for the inspiration for my first post, N.R.:
"Bristol Palin's pregnancy? Are you kidding me? So you want to talk about what kids do at the age of 17? Barack Obama was snorting blow at 17... Do you want proof? Read HIS book. It's in there. So Bristol gets pregnant... Is that illegal? Snorting blow is. Did you know how old Barack Obama's mom was when she gave birth to little Barry Hussein Obama? 18..."
----------------
Bristol Palin made an unfortunate mistake five months ago. I don't care who you are, or who your parents are, a 17-year-old child is no where near psychologically developed enough to raise a child of their own. Not illegal though, no, but a teenager using drugs generally only negatively affects one person: him or herself. This situation Bristol has put herself into will not only affect her and her family, but this unborn child who has absolutely no control over the situation. If Barack was using drugs at the age of 17, he is obviously not using them now. He has grown, and moved on from that time in his life. A baby is not a situation someone can move on from. Bristol is just very fortunate that her family has vowed their support for her decisions, because otherwise her and her child could be facing a very unfortunate future.
Many other underage mothers in this country are not as lucky as Bristol.
It is unfortunate, but true, yes, that kids these days are having sex at an earlier age than ever before. Without proper education or guidance, children are oftentimes incapable of making choices to utilize contraceptive methods or even to abstain from having sex altogether. Many parents out there are scared of the implications of sex education in school, for fear that their children will, what? That they will then partake in the act that they already see so graphically portrayed by the media daily? In 2006, Sarah Palin stated, "explicit sex-ed programs will not fund my support." It seems to me that Sarah P. would rather her children be educated by movies and television, which generally support risky teenage sexual behavior.
And where exactly has that gotten her?
Did McCain know about this situation before he made this asinine decision to include her as his partner in crime? It would be very hard for me to stand behind a woman who has so much to say about her values and stances on these issues, yet she cannot even provide her own daughter with the knowledge or tools to prevent a situation like this from happening. The fact that Palin cannot even control her own children does not stand in favor of her being a great leader for our nation. If you cannot educate, help, and lead one of the most important people in your life, how would it ever be possible to do those things for a country?
